As the new school year starts many teachers need to set aside some time to reflect on why they teach. A new set of expectations, a new chance, new students are great junctures for internal reflection. What inspires them everyday and how do they translate those aspirations into the lesson plans and curriculum. This especially important for Quran teachers, homeschooling mothers, educators in Islamic schools and weekend (Sunday) schools.
I came across these videos by Dr. Nadeem Memon on islamicteacherseducation.com. They are really helpful in bringing clarity in niyyahs, and in helping define our personal mission statements as teachers and administrators.
What are your aspirations as a teacher? Is your vision in sync with other stakeholders: parents, administration and board members?
