Nasihah: An Online Fundraiser for Imam Siraj Wahhaj

nasihahimamsirajFor those of you who don’t know, Imam Siraj Wahhaj was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. He needs funds to help pay his bills.

MANA and HelpImamSiraj.com are holding an online fundraiser for Imam Siraj Wahhaj on April 25th, 2009 at 7:00PM Eastern Standard Time. The speakers are Yasir Qadhi, Suhaib Webb, Zaid Shakir, and Faraz Rabbani. The brother’s at MANA need help advertising this event and getting the word out.

Imam Siraj is currently in the hypertention and radiation stages of prostate cancer. He needs close to $100,000 this Saturday to help pay for medical bills, medicine, and procedures whose costs are going out the roof.

This Saturday, Sh. Yasir will be doing the fundraiser live via phone in an AlMaghrib class in California while Imam Jawad Ahmed is also helping raise money live from New York. Parallel to the two fundraisers, Br. Nouman Ali Khan will be raising funds publicly in his Divine Speech class this weekend in New Jersey. Some brothers in Houston, TX have also gathered publicly and privately to help raise funds for this cause. Now the question is…have you donated anything to a man who’s given everything to you?

Even Shaykh Abdullah bin Bayyah has written a letter to the Muslim community of the United States urging everyone to support and help in this great cause dedicated to Imam Siraj Wahhaj!

    it’s like an all-star game. talk about eMAN RUSh. imam suhaib. shaikh faraz. imam zaid. imam siraj. sheikh hamza. sheikh yasir Q. it really makes me feel like i’m doing nothing for the community. so many brothers and sisters working hard for me and i’m just taking it all without giving back. it’s a wake up call for me.
