Shaykh Yaser Birjas and ICNA’s Why Islam campaign were featured on KSTM Channel 9 news in El Paso, TX. The feature was based off of a billboard put up by Why Islam, followed by a visit to the Islamic Center of El Paso, TX and a quick message to the local viewers in El Paso about what Islam and the 3,000 some Muslims in their own community are all about.
This video is nice because it highlights a successful result of the Why Islam campaign. The billboard they used got attention, it raised some awareness of Islam, and now with the help of the local news channel, thousands more are informed that if they have any questions they can either go to www.whyislam.org or go to the local Islamic Center where Yaser Birjas is. Now that’s what you call successful marketing!

mashaAllah! the people of El Paso are lucky to have such a good shaykh in their city. I-10 in el paso is an excellent location for the billboard, too, mashaAllah, because at that point not only residents of the city, but also all crosscountry traffic from I-10 and from I-20 will eventually pass that point. (I-20 splits off from I-10 about 100 miles east of El Paso.)
How wonderful, Alahmdulillah! ICNA is very active here in Chicago and we’ve had 3 billboards in our area. May ALlah bless them! THere’s now an effort to get them on the CTA buses in downtown Chicago.
MashaAllah, mashaAllah, i have no words to express the ache in my heart that wishes that Allah subhanahu wa Ta’ala makes me and all of us able enough in every way to contribute for our deen, and to make it reach every person in all the corners of the world.
