Dear New Muslim, a straight forward set of advice to new Muslim converts from Musa Maguire. A convert to Islam himself, Musa outlines the key items new Muslims should focus on after accepting their faith.

Proposition 8 – “Things do not happen. Things are made to happen.”

Maybe I’m wrong, but I have to imagine at least some readers are wondering whether the overwhelming message for Muslims should be, “Forget copying the Jews, let’s copy the Mormons!” :) No, seriously, should it be?

PR Lessons from the Rev. Jesse Jackson’s “Obama Surgery”

As counter-intuitive as it may seem, the prescription for effective community based PR starts with embracing the truth that we (American Muslims) disagree and are fairly divided among ourselves on many issues. Confidence in our unique positions, tempered by tolerance, will allow for us to increase our community’s maturity by formulating councils for internal discussions and issue resolution.

Influencing Culture Change: A Call to American Muslims

I believe that the call to the American Muslims is to influence and change the culture of the community around us as past Muslims have done.
