Wendy Díaz was born in Puerto Rico and embraced Islam while living in the U.S. in 2000. She holds a degree in Modern Languages and Linguistics, specializing in the Spanish language and secondary education from UMBC. She is a Spanish teacher, as well as a writer, poet, and translator.
She is the co-founder of Hablamos Islam, Inc., a non-profit organization that produces educational resources about the Islamic religion and culture in the Spanish language. She is also the author of several bilingual children's books, including the upcoming, "Why do Muslims...? 25 Questions and Answers for Curious Kids."
