Masha’Allah, these pictures were very beautiful.
The first one reminded me of a story in which Imam Johari Abdul Malik went to visit President Clinton with a Kaffiyah. President Clinton said, “Oh wow, this is beautiful – where is it from?” And Imam Johari simply replied, “From Palestine…”

I thought nationalism was against Islam?.. What’s so Islamic about Flags on a cupcake?

Oh yes, because there are no such thing as nations, tribes, boundaries, etc… we’re all one big homogeneous lump of Muslims, to the extent that a simple flag offends our sensibilities…C’mon! :)
Nationalism is the belief that one nation/race is superior to another. To recognise the reality of geography is hardly nationalism. The person who made the cupcakes was simply decorating them in line with the event: i.e., raising awareness of the occupation of Palestine.
