Random House publishing company pulls the plug for a book entitled “The Jewel of Medina,” a novel about the life of A’isha radhiAllahu ‘anha in fear of backlash from the Muslim world. 46 year old author Sherry Jones is upset, but if you see what would have been published in this book, you’d totally support Random House’s decision, and definitely disagree with this article here.

The article about the Obama woman goes to the same page as the one about the writer woman?
I have to say, I’m glad that the Jewel of Medina book was pulled – go prof Spellberg! It seems like the writer was trying to turn Aisha’s (ra) life into a Mills and Boon novel or something. I find it hard to believe that she didn’t realise it would be offensive.

And whenever you find the loony neo-Muslim *neo-con + Muslim* Asra Nomani on something (working for the right-wing opinion journals of WSJ), then you know that whatever she is saying is probably anti-Muslim and must be ignored or rebuffed. Amazing how she works actively on behalf of the right-wingers in her anti-mainstream-Islam agenda.
Message to Asra: How can you profess to be a Muslim and yet at the same time defend someone’s right to publish erotica about the Prophet (S) and his wife?? I just don’t get it. At least Salman Rushdie had officially apostated, so it is easier to understand crap from him!
With regards to Dr. Afiya Siddiqui… indeed it is a horrible story. I really would like to write something on it, but I have my hands full with upcoming exams, so if anyone wants to write about it and send it to us, we’ll publish it inshallah (with shura approval).

Letter from Dr Afia a sister of a dead nation
My dead nation.
My name is Dr. Afia educated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA) with three children and aim of helping my nation with my high class education is very pleased from your help.
I was kidnapped from my own country by my brothers and sold to America. I was brutally treated, raped, tortured, again and again given name prisoner 650. I prayed for my Muhammad Bin Qasim for every second of my years in prison in a Muslim country Afghanistan.
I am sister of 1/5 world population Muslim. My nation is historically famous in defending and protecting their citizen right from the beginning. Hazrat Omar (RA) Said, if a dog dies near river Arafat, Omar will be responsible on day of judgment.
At the moment I can’t walk on my own, one kidney is removed, bullet wound in my chest, denied any medical and legal aid and not sure whether I will be alive or not.
I would like to revoke my status of sister. I am a proud muslim, follower of Hazrat Muhammad SAW, daughter of Hazrat Abubakar, Hazrat Umar, Hazrat Usman and Hazrat Ali and Companions and their true followers. I don’t want to be your sister.
They are my protector and I will seek Allah help not yours.
I don’t want to be Pakistani who has 600,000 troops and special force SSG but fail to protect me, they sworn to protect me but refused when I was looking at them for help.
My so called Muslim Ummah having millions of soldiers, guns, tanks. Automatic weapons, fighter plans, submarines and yet they failed to save me.
Don’t worry about day of judgment you won’t be answerable as you are not my brothers in Islam. You are Arabic, Persian, Palestinians, African, Malaysian, Indonesian, South Asian but not Muslims.
I am sorry if hurts you but you can’t imagine how hurt I am.

The whole Muslim world should be focused towards getting help for Dr. Afia. Talk about it in your local mosque. Approach the editor, journalist in your area to write about it. A muslim woman was raped, tortured, beaten for five years by filthy American soldiers. I cannot even imagine what kind of acts they must have done to her to satisfy their greed and lust and that not once but for five years. In four year time I completed my college. All the time we were busy studying, eating, sleeping a woman was being tortured till death every minute. A male gender simply cannot understand the feelings of a raped woman and we still don’t know anything about her three children if they are dead or still alive. She might have been a terrorist, what about her children ?

Well fellas there are an awful lot of extremely important and pertinent issues MM has chosen to completely overlook.
From MM’s About Page:
May I ask if indeed MM is working to bring attention to issues faced by Muslims in the West, and I’m not saying they don’t, but they do so selectively. Some of the crucuial issues they’ve decided to ignore and overlook:
a) The Fitnah of Quilliam Foundation.
b) The Fitnah of Usama Hassan.
c) The New Muslim Marriage Contract.
Please can we have a word on these issues…? Whatever happened to defence of Islam against the onslaught of proggies etc etc etc…oh sorry that’s thing of the past when we needed more hits. ;)

Ibn Fellah, the “crucial” issues you refer to, unless I live in a different world than yours, I don’t find them to be that crucial. I have not even heard of the Quilliam Foundation… again doesn’t mean it isn’t important, just not something that is pervasive of an issue.

Ibn Fellah, I just googled the Quilliam Fondation… and oh man, what I saw made me want to vomit 10 times over. Most of us here in the US haven’t heard about the fitan you mentioned, since they seem to be rearing their heads in the UK. May Allah protect us from the kufr of secularism. Aameen.

It’s actually quite ironic that the secularists are using Sh. Abdullah Quilliam’s name to promote their ideologies, as it seems that, as Br. Yahya Birt kindly points out, he was one of the UK’s first Islamists.

Wherever and whenever you have Ed Hussein involved (as in Quilliam Foundation), then you know that it is a bogus, RAND-type, authority-kiss-** organization that is as worthless as Ed’s extremism->moderation story. I love it how these clowns add the name of Sh. Abdullah bin Bayyah and some other mainstream scholars, even though none of them have endorsed this outfit. Yusuf Smith has discussed Ed Hussein’s credibility (lack thereof is more like it) in several articles on his website, including this one.

Just FYI, no one has sent us any articles/posts on Dr. Afia. This is one of the issues we face. Many people want something written on something. But when it comes to putting in the effort, it is hard to find people to commit :)
So, anyway, inshallah, if nothing comes through, I will try to tackle this in the upcoming week… may Allah protect Dr. Afia and her children.
