Dr. Ali al-Timimi’s Request for Dua’ & Address to Write

Published

Br. Kashif sent us the following email, stating that “[He] received a letter from Ali al-Timimi recently. I [Kashif] wanted to share the closing paragraph with you”:

timimi.jpg“Please forward my salaams to everyone & encourage them to keep me in their prayers. Things are winding up for me here in Alexandria and we might have a final decision in May, wAllahu a’lam. And our hope and trust remains with Allah ta’ala alone.”

I would urge all brothers and sisters to make your deepest dua’s for Dr. Ali, in hoping for justice and fairness. I also urge his supporters to write to him, because letters are a window to the world for prisoners. May Allah release him to his family and to all the Muslims.

May Allah return our beloved brother back to us, so that his family can have their husband/father/son again, and his community can have their teacher again, and his Ummah can have their dynamic thinker again. Ameen

Ali Tamimi is one awesome brother, masha’Allah. I was blessed to meet him and get to talk with him up close and personal waaaay back in 1997 at the IANA conference, and what did I ask him?

“How long do I have to grow my beard?”

I continue to follow what I learned from him, and others, on that topic ;)

bismillah. now that i have finished the article, it’s last words ring loudly:

“These appeals all raise a basic question: whether in post-9/11 America the government, in prosecuting Muslims on terrorism charges, denies them equal protection under the law. On that question, the jury is still out.”

if the jury is still out on that question, it is only because it hangs its head in shame. there is no doubt that Muslims do not receive equal protection under the law during government prosecutions. but perhaps, the persecution of the system, especially in this case, will be somewhat remedied by appeal. and the best appeal is to Allah, for His Intercession cannot be denied. may Allah grant the shaykh and his family salaam in this life, and His Mercy in this life and in the Hereafter.

    salamualaikum

Jazakallah khairan for sharing this message from our dear brother and sheikh Ali. May Allah protect our brother in the circumstances he is in. I also feel we are without one of the best orators of the deen in the english language, that I have heard. We love him and miss his speech so much. May Allah lift the ummah out of this injustice and protect our brothers and sisters being held in captivity only because they profess the shahada– Ameen.

      Dear Sister

Not sure this was an appropriate article for this comment. If you are interested in marrying this boy then make sincere dua and istikharah (muslimmatters.org/2012/01/13/abdul-nasir-jangda-istikharah-how-to-and-why-2/). If it is better for your deen and duniya, Allah (SWT) will change the hearts of all involved. And if you sincerely make the dua if it is not, then may Allah (SWT) grant you someone better.

      WasSalamuAlaikum
      Aly
