I had the pleasure of attending these lectures last summer and I have to say it was a very beneficial weekend, masha’Allah. The topics were discussed thoroughly but in a simple manner that made it easy for someone without much background knowledge to understand. May Allah reward the brother for his efforts. Aameen. I look forward to seeing more material by him in the future.

Why is he posing in front of poorly arranged books? The Musnad above Majmo’ Fatawa next to Sahih al-Jami’ next Nail al-Awtar a fiqh book? Not an informed ordering. Strange, although hopefully informative on a very important subject.

F.y.i., he gave this talk at the QSS Canada centre. The 2 bookshelves behind him are at the front of the musalla and were originally at opposite ends of the wall. They were brought together to provide a backdrop for the videos, if I’m not mistaken. The books aren’t arranged in any particular manner.

This guy is from Medina, which is controlled by the House of Saud. Ibn Saud was an Mi6 agent for the British and his family spend most of their time whoring and gambling in London. Worse maybe than the emirates dubai which is about to set up the first islamic casino.Its pathetic that Muslims in Canada go to Medina to find spiritual guidance. Ask Khalid Yasin about his experiences there, he relates it in his sermon on the strangers. Medina wants to elevate the Hadiths, man made, over the Quran. sickening shirk.

@geo
you are absolutely wrong. I don’t think you have ever sat in the company of true scholars and students of knowlege from Madina. Most of the shayyokhs you see nowadays and many others, who are doing dawah day-in and day out in different parts of the world, are graduates from Madina… shows how little you know!

Sh. Navaid mentions the statement about the Quran needing hadeeth more than vice-versa. This really is so true. Some people will try to claim that this is disrespecting the Holy Book etc etc., but if I had lived in the time of the prophet (peace be upon him) and I had to find out what Allah wanted me to do (as He indeed does) and I had a choice of either reading the Quran to find this out without any recourse to the seerah and hadeeth, or of only being a student of the Prophet, then I would most certainly choose the second option. And I know that we don’t live in the time of the Prophet anymore and therefore have hadeeth rather than the benefit of his direct supervision and teaching, but the principle established still holds – at that time at least, during his lifetime, it was more important to learn from the Prophet than it was to exclusively learn from the Quran. So nobody should make the mistake of thinking that the statement is blasphemous in any way. No wonder the sahaabah are defined in the way as they are (i.e anyone who met the Prophet).

With regards to Shaykh Navaid’s tariqa, I was wondering, is it necessary to give him bay’ah in person, or is it sufficient to declare bay’ah to his picture?
