New MM Shaykh – Navaid Aziz

5.JPGMuslimMatters is pleased to announce the addition of another specialist to our staff, Navaid Aziz. Many of you may have already seen one of his articles and some of his videos on our blog, and we are now glad to have him officially on board.

Navaid was born in 1981 in Montreal, Quebec. He obtained a degree in Economics and Social Science from Champlain College. After that he went to the Islamic University of Madinah where he just finished up his degree in Shari’ah. He plans to pursue his masters degree in Islamic Studies from McGill University within the coming years.

He’s married with a daughter, and his wife says he is not looking for a second wife. He fills his free time with Islamic studies, basketball, and maintaining his own personal tareeqah which presently has only one mureed (ibnabeeomar).
