And don’t forget – it’s Yawm al-‘Arafah, so take advantage of this blessed day and make a concious effort to do good deeds, remember Allah, and turn to Him in sincere repentance. Ameen.

Alhamdulillah, since the last half hour or so, the pilgrims must be leaving Arafat, all forgiven like the day they were born. Our hearts are there with them, even though we are here, sitting in the midst of ba-aa-aa-ing goats bleating away in every neighborhood.

In Pakistan, goats and cows are being sold at practically every street corner. It’s amusing to see people take the goats up the stairs of their apartment buildings, tying them in balconies, on rooftops, and in the streets even! People are getting excited about the upcoming meaty Eid!

May Allah accept the Hajj of all pilgrims, and all the good deeds of non-pilgrims done in the past 10 days – the takbeerat, the nafl prayers, the fasting and repentance. May He accept everyone’s sacrifice too, Ameen.

innalhamdolillah. bismillah [posted by abu abdAllah]

they say one million people might journey to Washington, DC to see the inauguration? one event, in one place, over the scope of a few hours, and it will take many tens of millions of dollars to pay for it. but what kind of people? money and power will be shown off at every opportunity — it will be visible in every person’s clothing how rich or poor he or she is. from whether a person’s seat is reserved, and where, that will indicate how much power a person has, or how insignificant he is. and these people will be celebrating how? the elite will have private galas to attend. and the masses? the bars in DC — by special legislation — will be open 24 hours that day to accommodate the revelers.

    subhanAllah.

alhamdolillah, i was watching iqraa via satellite this morning. so i watched the hujjaaj congregate around Mount Arafat. then as the sun set over Arafat, and the exodus of hujjaaj went into motion towards Muzdalifah. the status of every believer before Allah Known only to Him — none of the superficial measures of this world matter there. indeed, there is nothing like the Hajj, mashaAllah. nothing that compares to it in size even approximates its dignity, majesty, and expression, mashaAllah.

may Allah accept from all of the hujjaaj, and may He accept from all of you and from us.

Air Canada is the worst airline in the world. PIA and Biman are so much better…
Currently I’m stranded in Edmonton, cause the apart of the engine of the “old” Air Bus aircraft needed fixing. They gave up on fixing it.. so now they are getting another plane from Vancouver. My flight is delayed for 6 hours now.

    Wow..

Anyway theres a lesson to be learned here..

Patience.. Sabr.. which I need to exercise.

Anyway just wanted to let out some steam.

Pray for me people so that I get back home safe.
