When bad things become commonplace that is result of flaws rooted fundamentally.
Strategically,
They implement their snide rhetoric subtly,
So so subtly.
It’s foundation lies in the idea of segregation,
The classic “Us vs.Them” they actively place partitions between the hearts of this nation.
That is the first detrimental step; the rest is all but done.
Once that is completed, they have already won.
Provocation of violence,
While the masses are silenced,
The poison sets in when we become compliant.
And we have BEEN
When the hearts have become divided
Backlash and accountability decreases when injustice is incited.
Oppression and injustice DO NOT happen overnight,
Rather, it takes a slow and painstakingly insidious plight,
Desensitized,
When will we realize?
Internalize?
Our community has been vilified,
When will we realize?
They seduce you with the idea that ‘I am Me’ and ‘They are Them’ and we are not the same,
This is the narrative they attempt to entertain,
But their vile efforts go in vain!
Because their PAIN is our PAIN!
Their eyes shed tears! And our eyes shed the same!
They are not ‘They’ we are ‘We’
Our fathers, brothers and children to be.
To defend, protect and nurture is our duty!
Understand, that this poison can still be metabolized,
If only we realized, internalized,
The impact that comes when institutions are pressurized!
When our hearts meet again and we become unified
We are one, we are one, do not take for truth their lies.
Our lives are worth living; we will not be desensitized.
OurThreeBrothers, We will not be desensitized.
