Great news! The best ten days of the year are nearly here. It is expected that the month of Dhul-Hijjah may start on November 7th, insha’Allah. Here are some resources we have posted in the past that should help you to make the most of this blessed time.

First, a video from Huda TV, in which Yasir Qadhi gives more on these 10 days and what we should be doing on them:

Second, a post titled: “On The First Day of Dhul-Hijjah, My True Love Gave To Me…

Indeed, our true Love has given us the most precious of gifts… these first ten days of the month of Hajj. Will we not show gratitude and appreciation? Will we not pay heed to the words of our Messenger (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), when he advised us to increase in our worship of Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala?

Let us seize the moment, let us recall the beautiful blessed days of Ramadhaan which passed us by only a few months ago, let us revive that spirit of emaan and ‘ebaadah!

Dr Mehzabeen b. Ibrahim joined MuslimMatters as a blogger in late 2007 under the handle 'iMuslim', whilst still a struggling grad student. Since then, she has attained a PhD in Molecular Biology and a subsequent Masters in Bioinformatics, and now works as a specialist in this field for a well-known British, medical charity, masha'Allah. Somewhere in between she found the time to get married, alhamdulillah. She likes to dabble in photo and videography, a sample of which can be found on her personal blog: iMuslim.tv.

    Salaam Alaikum

A brother emailed me and showed that the hadith I was referring to regarding one getting reward for every hair on an animal’s back has been deemed by Sh. al-Albani to be fabricated.

I thank him immensely for brining this to my attention, and ask Allah to forgive me for any oversight.
