One child, and mother left to bring back home. I hope and pray that this is not some grand trick (with Pakistan government you never know), but I trust that Dr. Aafia’s sister Fauzia would not allow such a trick to play out before saying anything.
SubhanAllah, the injustice done to her and her family would outweigh a world of goodness. May Allah punish the perpretators of the injustice and lies against her.

The Government has formally declared 12 years old Maryam as daughter of Dr.
Aafia Siddiqui after proved by DNA Test and the girl handed over to the family of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.

Talking to media after holding the meeting, the Interior Minister said that Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani wanted to make the announcement himself but he asked him to announce this.
Rehman Malik said that the DNA Report has proved that 12 years old Maryam is daughter of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, adding the girl only speak English.
Responding to a question, the Interior Minister said that the government is taking all possible measures for the return of Dr. Aafia, saying the Prime Minister during his stay in the United States would strongly raise the issue of release of Dr. Aafia with the leadership of the United States.
The Minister on the occasion congratulated the entire nation and the family of Dr. Aafia.
Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui while talking to media said that the DNA test has proved that the girl is daughter of Dr. Aafia and praised the efforts of the government regarding repatriation of Dr. Aafia and her children and specially mentioned efforts of the Interior Minister.
On current visit of the Prime Minister to the United States, Dr. Fauzia expressed her hope that he (Gilani) would raise the issue regarding release of Dr. Aafia with US Leadership.
Terming the visit of Afghan President, Hamid Karzai, a key factor in making the efforts of the government and the Interior Minister productive, she said that the rehabilitation of Maryam would be started soon.

Extremely disturbing news very disturbing not just so one person is kept held illegally and being abused but knowing if they are doing something like this to one person how many others are there especially children. This is sick and satanic. I wonder how their families goes to sleep. All we do is talk whether it be Religious leaders or Politicians and post comments and live in denial this is how low we have become. No one ever dares to take action (please I dont advise anyone to do anything risky), but this is unforgivable. Religious leaders, politicians, military should get serious about what to do this nonsense needs to stop. I hope they (i.e. religious leaders) understand there are two rights in Islam: one is that between God to His servant and then there is the second right between servants to another servant (human to human); God (Allah) says he is All-forgiving when it comes to His rights he may choose to forgive and punish but He is Forgiving. Then there is the right of human to human which is upon the individual to forgive or not; sometimes I wonder what has happened to Muslims how narrow-minded they have become. Whatever the Prophet has prophesied will happen and I belief God’s mercy is much more than His anger. Again I hope Religious leaders really need to think twice this is intolerable; if there is any hope left “anyone” left please do not become a wall; think about people who are suffering as well.

Dr Fowzia said that they will be carrying out their own independent investigation to confirm the girl’s identity. See http://justiceforaafia.org/index.php/articles/articles/507-reports-dna-proves-girl-as-aafias-daughter-malik for details. She was also recovered from Bagram.
