MashaAllah, may Allah azza wa jal protect our brother. Ameen. Jazakum Allahu khayran.

My uncle passed away exactly a year ago this month from leukemia after Ramadaan (alhamdulillah he was very healthy, went for umrah in Ramdaan and stayed there the whole month and fell very ill when he returned), rahmat Allahi alayhi wa ‘alaa jamee’i mautal muslimeen. Ameen.

It never ceases the amaze me how our brothers and sisters who have been diagnosed with cancer keep their trust in Allah, and remain grateful. My uncle lost nearly 50 pounds in one week from the chemo treatment, yet he was still smiling, still praying and saying alhamdulillah. This story really touched my heart and brought back a lot of memories.

الحمد لله كثيرا طيبا مباركا غير مكفي ولا مودع ولا مستغنى عنه ربنا

AmatulWadood i know what you mean, my grandfather passed away this year during Ramadan, and even on his last days, he was pretty much unconcious and he would in his ‘sleep’ do all the actions for wudu and pray laying down, even though he was not able to really talk they would see his lips moving during salah.

Also when he was able to talk there were only two things he would say, 1; ask for his mother (he was 107 yrs old and still say Ma) 2; the only complaint he had was that he was not able to read his Quran or pray properly, Alhumdulilah.

But Alhumdulilah Allah blessed him, he always said he wanted to die on a friday, and he did, during ramadan, with all his family now i pray Allah grant him a home in janat al firdous. Ameen.
