The shaykh did not mention the right of the spouse to boycott her Muslim husband for at least three nights if he does not fulfill basic marital duties or for example sins by spending his wages in gambling, and /or alcohol. Not just by not speaking but also giving herself to him.
Is the shaykh sure that these Hadith trasmitted by meaning not literally word for word, do not contain some kind of interpretation or interpolations? Cursing a wife for not sleeping one night with the husband may seem like a strong paraphrase of a prophetic adminition non longer available to us in the original wording. Cursing in the Quran is reserved for Ibslis, the hypocrites and also for spouses who commit immorality and do not confess when justly accused without witnesses. Bukhari himself admitted transmiting by meaning. Why are we so zealous as to insist on having the exact wording (not just paraphrases) of the Prophet a.s.
