Mashal Ayobi is a mother of four and a student of sacred knowledge. She's also the Director of the Institute for Muslim Advancement and Renewal (IMAR) in California. She graduated with a BA in Sociology from University of California at Davis, and is a third year student in the reputable Warethaat Project, a rigorous academic training program led by Imam M. A. Azeez that aspires to train Muslim women who will commit their lives to Allah (swt). She has authored essays and articles on various topics related to the social sciences and Islamic theology as well as a book titled “The Light We Lost: Grappling with Shariah in the Modern World.” She resides in California with her family.
