Is it for someone living in the US or in France?
You can check Dar-us-Salam publications, they have a good collection of French books:

SubhanAllah. Thanks for sharing that video, it’s absolutely fascinating! Having visited his youtube page, his name is Yousef and it sounds like is a former Christian who became Jewish (obviously). Needless to say, it does sound like he has taken a look at Islam in the past so I’d be interested in his reasons for not being Muslim :)

Allahuakbar. I thought this video was amazing when I saw it on MR’s blog. It reminds us of the actual Salah and that the essence is NOTHING new and was enjoined on every messenger!
Everybody had been commanded to worship Allah subhanahu.
There is also another related “salaah” of the Coptic Christians (and would assume Greek Orthodox). Some Habesha (Eritrean and Ethiopian) people I knew used to tell me they have a “tahiyaatul masjid” for their church! I actually seen it on Natl Geo. or Disc on some show about ancient ruins in Ethiopia about some famous church that was built into the ground and they showed a clip of a woman prostrating all the way down and getting up. Here’s a lil description.
Not only that, but I thought which was interesting that the name of the most common Habesha Orthodox Church is “Tewahedo”! Ya sounds like Tawheed huh. Allahu’alam what happened down the line.
Last but not least, my AA Studies teacher told us that the EARLIEST translation of the Injeel (from it’s original language) was from Aramaic into Ge’ez (an oldschool Habesha language that nobody speaks no more, but only read their bible by). I think it would be interesting for someone who would be doing comparative religions or a future Ahmed Deedat to research this for da’wah. Allahu’alam.

Are you sure it isn’t the other way around?

Are you asking if the earliest translation was from Ge’ez INTO Aramaic (the supposed language of the Injeel)?
Not sure if that is what we are asking?
Allahu’alam.
I’m just parroting what my AA Studies teacher said one time. He mentioned that people often believe the earliest translation of the Injeel into another language was into Hebrew, he said that this was incorrect and the earliest was into Ge’ez.

Allah u Akber!……jazakAllah khair for sharing the video…..
On another note…..smiling is sunnah and a form of sadaqa. Time magazine recently ran an article on Health and Happiness. And on the list they had smiling.
Check it out http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1631176_1630611_1630630,00.html
Just goes to show the Sunnah is great! walhamdulillah

assalam alaikum, a non-muslim asked me to recommend a book on the life of the prophet muhammad (SAW) to him, do you have any recommendations of a seerah book aimed towards non-muslims?
Ibn Malik

The best book on Seerah is by Adil Salahi (I think thats the name)
However definitely not the shortest read :)

Interesting. As a Jew, I should tell you that this is a very unusual way of praying. We do not prostrate, though we do bow, and this man has a very very strong Arabic accent. I can understand the Hebrew, but barely. I wonder what his story is…

No problem HIN, your life, your choice ultimately we have been told to inform the people but it is Allaah who chooses those truth seekers who wish to be sincerely guided to Islam the meaning of which is the submission and Muslims who are the submitters to the will of God. We say no submission to humans who have a tendency to change the laws of God and say this is from God.

Ok, good to know! If you would like more information on Judaism, I recommend this book: http://books.google.ca/books?id=IuKNIR5qlS0C&printsec=frontcover&dq=judaism+for+muslims&client=firefox-a&cd=1#v=onepage&q=&f=false
It’s an introduction to what Jews believe, geared specifically to Muslims. I’ve read the companion volume, “Islam for Jews”.

Ok, that’s fine! I only sent you the link because I thought you might be interested in learning about other faiths (Judaism and Islam are so similar) from an intellectual perspective, as I did about Islam. It *is* possible to explore things intellectually without converting, unless you are afraid your faith is too weak to withstand this exploration. Your call.
By the way, I saw the comment you tried to delete where you accused rabbis of “widespread trickery”. Our rabbis don’t try to “trick” G-d.
Really nice.

No problem HlN, I do know what I need to know about Judaism and p.s I tell the truth according to how I see it because I do not like to hide what I feel. I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings that was not the nicest way of explaining my thoughts, and I am glad that mm so fit to delete my message to you.
As for the rest we will see on the day of judgment> what the truth of the matter is, and so till then God willing.

actually, the deletion was an editorial one.
Sr. Umm Bilqis, you suggested a reading for HIN, he/she suggested a reading for you. That seems perfectly appropriate and should be no reason for attacking language. The first principle of dawah is humility and mercy.
Umm Bilqis

Jazak’ Allah khairan for that thought brother Amad it was not my intention to attack but to wake up HIN.
I accept that I could have been more tactful may Allah Increase me in humility and mercy and forgive my short comings and the imperfections of all those who seek Jannah (paradise). Ameen.
