Revive a Sunnah – Supplication for Going to the Masjid

Since the time of year is upon us where we are frequenting the masaajid more than usual, I thought this supplication would be an important one for us to learn and inshallah implement.

‘O Allaah, place within my heart light, and upon my tongue light, and within my ears light, and within my eyes light, and place behind me light and in front of me light and above me light and beneath me light. O Allaah, bestow upon me light’ (Saheeh Muslim).

    where is this dua from? i am memorising a longer version from fortress of muslim.. i wonder which one is from Bukhari??? please provide the reference

    …niamah – its from hisnul muslim. it says its in bukhari and muslim, with the wording from muslim

    Salaam, beautiful dua mashallah! I learned it as a dua to be read after reading Quraan, is there any backing for that?
