Awesome, just what I needed! JazakAllahu khair!!!!!
All these points are really important, of course, but #4 struck me the most… I’ve definitely gotta work on that one! :S

A difference I saw in the NE part of the country as compared to the South is that #9 is much harder here! Everyone wants to make their pitch, even if it involves talking without knowledge.
May Allah help us know what we know, and then to say what we know for sure that we know.

SubhanAllah… so true akhee. IT’S EVEN WORSE IN BOSTON… especially at places like MIT and Harvard where some people think they’re soooo smart because they go to a good school that they think they are smarter than Allah (kinda reminiscent of the philosophers and people of kalam we learned about in Light Upon Light).

Assalamu Alaikum,
Jazakallahu Khairan for this very beneficial post, may we all learn from this inshallah. I came across this quote, mashallah, and it is so true mashallah: “Knowledge is not what is memorized, Knowledge is what benefits.” Imam Shafi’ee. Subhanallah!!
