As Muslims, we of course believe that our expiration date is “written in stone” and predetermined by Allah. We know that nothing can delay or rush it. Also, our ultimate destination, whether heaven (inshallah) or hell (may Allah forbid) is determined by our good deeds and acceptance of those by Allah.

But at the same time, let’s remember that the Prophet (S) instructed the man who lost his camel (claiming to have left it to Allah), that he should have first leashed the camel, and THEN left it up to Allah. That is, we have to do what we can, within our free will, to protect our bodies and minds from harm, and THEN leave it up to Allah.

As Bilal Phillips said in his book of ‘Fundamentals of Tawheed’, “Man proposes, and God disposes”. Our bodies are a trust from Allah. Be cognizant of this trust, buckle up!

Allah saves the life of the Muslim….! If He wants us alive He can save us like he saved Ibrahim from the fire…

I am sorry sister Irum, but Allah saves the lives of all human beings, as He wills, when He wills. If their time is not up, they are not going anywhere.

We take medicine when we are sick. The meds are only a means to the cure. The cure itself is from Allah. We have to do what we have to do in order to preserve our bodies, and THEN leave it to Allah.

It really bugs me when Muslims use ‘i’ll die when it’s written for me’ as an excuse for doing something unsafe or whatever. I’ve heard people use it to put down delf defence classes or a healthy lifestyle, or as an excuse for doing stupid things like smoking or driving dangerously. You might as well wander onto the motorway and make dua, if you think things work that way.

Using seat belts is all well and good.

What I object to is being compelled to do so by the state and suffering penalties for it.

Who the hell do they think they are?

Putting on your seat belt is tying your camel, ofcourse Allah saves the lives of Muslims, and non-Muslims

The state compels you because the state has to pay for a large portion of the medical care and rehabilitation of anyone injured. Not only do seat-belts “save lives” – they also reduce critical injuries.

In other words, it’s the price you pay for living in a nanny state.

At first I thought the souls that left the bodies quick were the believers souls and that last guy was a non-believer who’s soul didnt want to leave and was fighting to stay but the Angel of Death was pulling…..Unfortunatley I was wrong :(
