Keep supporting MuslimMatters for the sake of Allah

Alhamdulillah, we're at over 850 supporters. Help us get to 900 supporters this month. All it takes is a small gift from a reader like you to keep us going, for just $2 / month.

The Prophet (SAW) has taught us the best of deeds are those that done consistently, even if they are small. Click here to support MuslimMatters with a monthly donation of $2 per month. Set it and collect blessings from Allah (swt) for the khayr you're supporting without thinking about it.

The reward of fasting the tenth of Muharram is forgiveness of your past year’s sins! When will you avail yourself of the Mercy of Allah?

Have you gotten married recently? MashaAllah! Now you have a chance to fulfill one of the requirements of marriage by publicizing your union here on MM! Please let us help you publicize weddings that have taken place or announce the dates of your upcoming nikah/walima. (If you’ve gotten engaged, please accept our well wishes, too, but let us know when you’ve set a date.)

What I suggest is that you scan your wedding/walima invitation and send it to me at tariqnisarahmed@gmail.com. InshaAllah, every attempt will be made to have your announcement added to the next Sunday Thread. If you prefer, you can send me your text for inclusion in the main body of the Sunday post. And you can always publicize your wedding by posting a reply below, just as with any other announcements or reply you would normally post here.

In addition to weddings, this offer also applies to births and deaths that need to be announced.

Please note that no pictures should be submitted with any haram content. If you think your picture might be borderline, please send just your text. All text will be considered, but the right is reserved to edit any text or image submission and to refuse any submission without reservation. This offer may be canceled at any time without notice. Any published notice, even if edited by me, will still be your responsibility as to accuracy, etc. These restrictions and conditions may be changed or added to without exception, and other restrictions may apply.

I’d like to announce the death of a dear brother in Delaware, Br. Saleem, who leaves behind his wife and two very young children.

inna lillahi wa inna alahi rajioon.

In a story that should remind us all of the uncertainty of death, Br. Saleem prayed Isha at the Masjid in Delaware (ISD), like he always does, and then went to visit his mother’s. There he passed away within a few hours. Perfectly healthy one minute, gone the next subhanAllah.

He was a mashallah solid brother, husband and father, a regular musalleen, and an integral part of the community. A tragedy for all in Delaware…

Please make dua’ for him and his family.

If you are anywhere in the area, you can help support the family by purchasing any goods from the Br. Saleem’s recently started store:

Due to circumstances arising out of the sad demise of its owner, Br. Saleem Boone, Zam Zam Treasures is conducting close out sales this week. Insha Allah few volunteers will man the store at the following timings.

The store will be open today (Sunday 12/27) from 10:30 AM to 1 PM. And again from Monday through Thursday of this week from 5PM to 7PM. If there are items still left, the store will be again open after Friday (1/1) prayers.

Please stopby at the store to show your support for the family.

    Jazakumullahu Khairun,
    ISD Management

P.S. The store is located across the Masjid on Salem Church Rd. (35A Salem Church Rd, Suite 2).

May Allah enter him into Firdaws and grant his family patience during this time.

What had been earlier denounced by the Israeli as untrue and anti-Semitic has now been confirmed – that Israelis have been harvesting organs from dead Palestinians without permission.

American-led troops were accused yesterday of dragging innocent children from their beds and shooting them during a night raid that left ten people dead.
