    Nice video,

Yasir Qadhi is one of my favorite scholars. He really brought up some points in this video that I was not aware of.

I think the part about there being no hope for the one who does not leave sins, and be (minimally) righteous in Ramadan was a very strong message. It truly scared me! May Allah keep us safe from our own evil, ameen.

That is the part I was referring to. It scared me as well. This video ties in with the first part of Dr. Ali’s Juz summaries:

Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower. [3:8]

I pray for you and the entire Ummah to not allow our hearts to deviate from this magnificent faith.

    As-Salaam Alaykum,
I love the video. May I ask a question from your book Dua “The weapon of the believer”? After saying salat, then doing dikr to Allah, and then doing dua for Prophet Muhammad (SWA) (which is recommended), what did he (SWA) commanded his Companions to say when they made prayers upon him. (SWA) Which, would not be done every time of course. May Allah reward you in this temporal world and the hereafter.

    Wassalam,
    Abdul-Alim

    Assalam,

May I commend Brother Shaikh Yasir Qadhi on the excellent video. It was very focussed delivery on what the true essence of Ramadan is all about. May Allah bless him.

Would like to wish all fellow Brothers and Sisters a Happy Ramadan, May Allah accept all your duas during this blessed month.
Please make dua for myself and family.

    Wa Salaam
    Brother Abdul Muhid

    Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu.

MashAllah that was an excellent Reminder.

Can someone clarify this for me please. Regarding the hadith about the Prophet (Salallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) climbing the mimbar, isn’t one of the Ameens regarding someone who doesnt say (Salallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) after the Prophet (Salallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam’s) name? Or is that another ahadith?

    Jazakallahu Khayran

    Wassalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu

    Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,

Yes thats right. I found this on the internet, it’s such a coincidence, I was listening to ramadhan radio last nite and they mentioned this exact hadith!!

Kaab Ibn Ujrah (Radiallaho Anho) relates that Rasulullah (Sallallaho Alaihi Wassallam) said Come near to the mimbar and we came near the mimbar. When He (Sallallaho Alaihi Wassallam) climbed the first step of the mimbar, He (Sallallaho Alaihi Wassalla) said “Aameen”, When He (Sallallaho Alaihi Wassallam) ascended the second step, He (Sallallaho Alaihi Wassallam) said “Aameen”, When He (Sallallaho Alaihi Wassallam) climbed the third step, He (Sallallaho Alaihi Wassallam) said “Aameen” When He (Sallallaho Alaihi Wassallam) came down, We said “O Rasool of Allah (Sallallaho Alaihi Wassallam0, we have heard from you today something which we never heard before” He (Sallallaho Alaihi wasallam) said When I climbed the first step, the angel Jibraeel (A.S.) appeared before me and said “Destruction to him who found the blessed month of Ramdhan and let it pass by without gaining forgiveness” upon that I said ‘Aameen’. When I climbed the second step, he said, “Destruction to him before whom thy name is taken and then he does not make Dua for Allah’s blessing on me (by saying, for example Sallallaho Alaihi wasallam).” I replied ‘Aameen’. When I climbed the third step, he said “Destruction unto him in whose lifetime his parents or either one of them reaches old age, and (through failure to serve them) he is not allowed to enter Jannah”. I said ‘Aameen’. Note In this Hadith, it appears that Jibraeel (Alaihi Salaam) gave expression to three curses, upon which Rasulullah (Sallallaho Alaihi wasallam) said Aameen every time. In al-Durr al-Mansoor it is reported that Jibraeel (Alaihi Salaam) advised Rasulullah (Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam) to say Aameen. Being an angel of such high mark, Jibraeel ‘s giving these curses is sure to be accepted. May Allah (Subhanahu wa Taala) in His infinite mercy grant us His help and save us from these three dangers. (ameen)
