Bah, you Americans and your incorrect way of writing out dates! It should be Open Thread Sunday 29-06-2008. dd-mm-yyyy makes a lot more sense than m-dd-yy - but seeing as I’m part of the Brit minority on MM, I have to concede defeat. The colonies aren’t what they used to be… {sad face}

Anyway, I’ve been reading a lot of moving poetry about the blogosphere this week (one example), so I thought I’d dig through the MM archives and see what we have to offer:

Two short poems that I particularly enjoyed: Consolation & Faces Unveiled

And some much deeper contemplation in store as Abu Aaliyah (another MM Brit - represent!) muses over a Rudyard Kipling Poem.

I now hand the rest of the thread over to you.

Ahem.

As you were…

The advent of summer being well upon us, school’s going to be out and kids are going to have a lot more time on their hands - time that can be used in either good, or bad. Insha’Allah, this is our opportunity to give Da’wah to our youth… and here’s how!

The Hussein ‘08 campaign is officially on. I hope Hillary is not the running mate, but I do hope she has input in the healthcare policy. I hope the Celtics win tonight (and the finals for that matter). For all those going for the Lakers .. astaghferullah how can you support a (alleged) rapist?!

As for the ‘old is gold’ posts, I want to take a quick look back at some tafseer related articles we have had,
