Mohammad Elshinawy

Research Fellow at Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research

Education: Graduate of English Literature. Studied briefly at the Islamic University of Madinah (Hadith College). Studying at Mishkah University.

Career: Research Fellow at Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research. Translator for AMJA (Assembly of Muslims Jurists of America) and others.

Personal: A refugee of sorts. Great grandparents were exiled from Paradise, and limited opportunities of 70's Egypt brought my parents to Brooklyn, New York USA. Fast forward, the suffocating lifestyle of NYC drove this Brooklyn born and bred to finally escape to the Lehigh Valley (East Pennsylvania), where I currently serve as the resident student at IECPA (Islamic Education Center of PA).

Behind closed doors, I conspire to secure husband of the year nominations from my wife, while my daughter Maymuna (6yrs) craftily conspires to steal a sip from my coffee, and while my son Abbaad (7yrs) endlessly renegotiates the reward system for his memorization of Quran. Alhamdulillah!
