The Day I Became The White Bull

The Day I Became The White Bull We are more hurt over the death of one celebrity, then we are over the death of thousands of our brothers and sisters around the world. When we see an inhumane tyrant who is killing children in front of their mothers just for a little bit of power, the least we can do is despise it in our hearts. When you see your brother and sister saying and doing filthy things, at least feel a sense of disgust in your heart. Keeping in mind though, that you hate the sin, because of your love for the sinner. Unfortunately we have strayed so far from this point, that the only time we feel hate or disgust, is when we despise a particular individual; we have learned to hate the sinner, and could care less about the sin.

Life of a Da’ee – An Anonymous Response to ‘How Much Should Islamic Clergy Make?’

Life of a Da’ee – An Anonymous Response to ‘How Much Should Islamic Clergy Make?’ I’ve been physically tortured for wanting to seek knowledge, nearly imprisoned and cut off from any family wealth for being a Da’ee, mistreated by terrible masjid administrations, wrongfully accused by the so-called religious community, insulted even by my friends — but I do not regret this life even for one second.

America’s Shame + Muslims’ Double Shame = American Muslims’ Triple Shame

America’s Shame + Muslims’ Double Shame = American Muslims’ Triple Shame It is America’s shame that poverty and racism continues to this day. It is Muslims’ double shame that they have even more massive inequalities and racism (to the degree of quasi-slavery in some Muslim countries) despite having a religion that orders the opposite.

Inspiring American Muslim Youth: My Identity, My Tomorrow

Inspiring American Muslim Youth: My Identity, My Tomorrow “It’s time that the youth take the initiative and lead the community. This convention is an outlet for the youth to have their issues highlighted, as they see fit. Most conventions have separate parallel programs for youth, while others attend the regular convention. IamY seeks to bridge the gap and have the entire community and family focus on important issues youth face.

Islamic Microfinance: A Model for Alleviating Poverty

Islamic Microfinance: A Model for Alleviating Poverty Islamic microfinance is becoming an increasingly popular mechanism for alleviating poverty, especially in developing countries around the world. The Islamic finance industry as a whole is expected to reach over $2 billion dollars in 2012 and is a continually growing sector due to its ethical principles and prohibition of riba (interest).

Finding My Syrian-American Identity

Finding My Syrian-American Identity Only now am I learning to adopt and combine the qualities that make America so great, and the qualities that charge Syria with spirit. Only now do I realize that my lost identity, split into two countries, symbolize who I am.

Love the Prophet – Follow Him

Love the Prophet – Follow Him Say, [O Muhammad], ‘‘If you should love Allah , then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.’’ [Al-Qur'ān 3:31]

The Arab League Report On Syria – Yet Another “F”?

The Arab League Report On Syria – Yet Another “F”? The current state of the Arab Republic needs no introduction; with the number of fatalities escalating to hundreds on a daily basis under the authoritarian rule of President Bashar Al Assad, and more recently with the heavyweights China and Russia vetoing a draft UN security council resolution pressing for his immediate resignation, all news bulletins are pointing Middle East-wards.

Stand Up & Take Action for Syria

Stand Up & Take Action for Syria My plea to you brothers and sisters is to take action and stand up for justice in Syria. Here are some ways we can take action.

Book Review | The Spirit Level

Book Review | The Spirit Level Every so often, a book comes along that forces us to radically re-think our basic assumptions. Wilkinson and Pickett’s The Spirit Level, a culmination of fifty years painstaking research work, is exactly that. What is most remarkable of all is that after half a century of research and numerous scatter graphs later, two British Professors of Epidemiology draw conclusions that look remarkably similar to those recommended by the Qurʾān and Sunnah fourteen hundred years ago.
