Excellent reminder, jazaki'Allah khayr. I've always loved the story of Ka'b and I love getting to learn it anew and see it with fresh eyes, taking in the lessons highlighted through your posts.

[...] In instantly burning the letter, Ka’b (radhiAllahu anhu) was an example of hastiness in ridding ourselves from all means that lead to corruption in deen. Burning the letters and cutting the ropes pulling us toward misguidance is a step to being saved from the eternal Fire. Every link between us and the prohibited should be terminated, thereby disallowing any chances for the whispers of shaytan. The truly determined ones are those who do not allow the juice to ferment, as Ibn Al-Qayyim so eloquently symbolized. The more one permits means of temptation to remain in their surroundings the more they are at risk of poisoning their faith. [MuslimMatters] [...]

Assalam-o-Alaikum,

I have AlhamduliAllah been following the story of Ka'ab R.A. from the very first part ...I love it MashAllah the way it is written by Mariam E. I have applied the lessons learned in my life too... The best thing I like about it is that.....Ka'ab R.A. like many of us comitted the sin knowingly and wanted to give excuses but .....he realised that to be saved in this life at the cost of eternal life was not worth it.AND MOST OF ALL FEARING THE WRATH OF ALLAH (S.W.T.)... we all commit sins but not many of us repent truely...Ka'ab R.A. repented truely and he CLOSED ALL WAYS FOR MISGUIDANCE........

Verily Satan is our open enemy an AND iN SURAH IBRAHEEM...

And Shaitan (Satan) will say when the matter has been decided: "Verily, Allah promised you a promise of truth. And I too promised you, but I betrayed you. I had no authority over you except that I called you, so you responded to me. So blame me not, but blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I deny your former act in associating me (Satan) as a partner with Allah (by obeying me in the life of the world). Verily, there is a painful torment for the Zalimoon (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.)."

He has no power over us untill we willingly follow him

The POINT IS NOT REPENTING BUT NEVER RETURNING, HATING AND CLOSING ALL POSSIBLE PATHS LEADING TO THE SIN FROM THE DEPTHS OF OUR HEARTS

JAZAALLAHU KHAIR SISTER FOR THIS WONDERFUL ARTICLE.MAY ALLAH(S.W.T.) REWARD YOU ABUNDANTLY
