Assalamu Alaikum, our freedom to command the good and forbid the evil is from Allah and not from any constitution. Many countries whether Muslim or Non-muslim dominated are commiting oppression in various forms.

It is important to follow Islam and not let any contradictory ideas or values get in the way.

Wa alaykum salam,

Alhamdulillah, we live in a country that allows you to practice your Islam and voice your dissent publicly, which is more than some of our Muslim brethren would allow in some so-called Muslim countries.

I don't think the Indian ulama are the most influential amongst western-oriented youth but I would be interested to read their views.

Strategic is not placing white converts up on a pedestal as the "great white hope" as many Muslim communities already do that thinking it will absolve them of their own responsibilities to act and convey the message. Some people are suspicious of converts, if we want to keep our names and manners of dress then we are sometimes accused of being "sell-outs" or not authentically Muslim or of remaining too close to our non-Muslim roots, trying to "Americanize" Islam

I have Muslim role models, not all of them are well-known, but people I see in my daily life and who I see aspects of goodness or success, which inspires me. I think the references to the founding principles demonstrates that this country is not like some others and belies the argument of some Muslims and non-Muslims that we cannot live here as Muslims and be fully contributing members of society.

Assalamu Alaikum, I am a born american and I have been a muslim for 4 years now but I will always be more loyal to Islam than America and I don't support america because of the injustice they have done to muslims in iraq and afghanistan, I don't want to have to answer Allah(swt) by befriending america instead of the muslims, whether you like it or not america and the west are against Islam and muslims, afghanistan and iraq are almost finished now wait until their next attack.
