  5. Assalaamu Alaykum,

I met Brother Safi Khan in 1992 or 1993. He helped to change my life forever by being a such a beautiful example of a balanced, moderate, friendly, caring, intelligent, honest, sincere, peaceful, and happy Muslim. I never met such a Muslim before who was able to balance all of those things in America. He helped fill my heart with a love for Islam and Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. He helped guide me through all his lectures every weekend. Allah put me back on the straight path through Brother Safi. He helped to show me how to be a successful Muslim in America — success in the spiritual sense and also in the sense of doing good in this country for the benefit of Muslims, Islam, and our non-Muslim American brothers and sisters in humanity.

Thank you Brother Safi, from the bottom of my heart. I left Washington, DC in 1998 and have not seen him since. Watching him here in this video brings tears to my eyes….from the beautiful memories. Also, my memory of him was without grey hair and Subhan-Allah, seeing him age is a reminder to me of how quickly time passes — we can either get lost in the dunya for temporary benefits or struggle in the dunya for infinite benefits in the next world.

For the sake of Allah, I love this man so much. May Allah give him a long life and good health and increased knowledge and wisdom so he can continue to be a light for others.

    Wassalaamu Alaykum,
    alaa shoreibah
