A friend of mine remembers during one Ramadan in Makkah when the shaykh was answering questions, and someone asked him if it was permissable for him to follow the Imam on TV during prayer from his hotel room. The shaikh said yes! As long as the TV makes ruku and sajda, then it is fine!

During the same session, there was this lady trying to ask a question, and she was a little too close to him, so he leaned to the side a bit. She moved closer and he leaned further away and turned his head slightly away too! She then move even closer and the shaikh nearly slipped off his chair! He tutted at her and the students laughed and asked her to move slightly back to ask her question!

I believe he was a faqeeh of a high calibre, May Allaah SWT grant him al Firdaus!

- We should look towards scholars of Shaykh ibn Uthaymeen's calibre for fataawa and knowledge.
- It's sad how we go to anyone these days to get our fataatwa just because they graduated from an islamic university :)
