Assalam ‘alaikum
During these last 10 nights of Ramadan we are offering you an opportunity to support your voice, the voice of practicing Muslims in West!

How? By donating to MuslimMatters.org (MM)!

Keep supporting MuslimMatters for the sake of Allah

Alhamdulillah, we're at over 850 supporters. Help us get to 900 supporters this month. All it takes is a small gift from a reader like you to keep us going, for just $2 / month.

The Prophet (SAW) has taught us the best of deeds are those that done consistently, even if they are small. Click here to support MuslimMatters with a monthly donation of $2 per month. Set it and collect blessings from Allah (swt) for the khayr you're supporting without thinking about it.

Alhamdulillah, with your support, MM has seen tremendous growth, becoming your source for scholarly articles, expert analysis and hard-hitting opinion pieces. Visits have increased from some 25,000 per month to nearly 100,000! In the last 18 months alone, we’ve had over a million visits (with 500,000 being unique visitors)! Our readers come from over 190 countries, spanning nearly every state in the world, with 80% from US, UK, Canada and Australia. We are one of the top Muslim blogs as ranked by Technorati, and have also been chosen as one of the UK Times Online’s top 30 most influential religious blogs.

To celebrate these milestones and ensure our future service to you, MuslimMatters.org has registered as a non-profit corporation [1].

Our blog has now become, for many of its readers, a primary source of information for political, social, and theological issues of relevance to the Muslim world. [Yasir Qadhi]

Insha’Allah, we plan to continue providing fresh Islamic scholarship, innovative competitions and inspiring articles that have become the staple of MM. We look forward to new milestones, such as our recent listing on the Dallas Morning News’ religion blog, one of the more politically conservative newspapers in the southwest. We also plan to market MM through many channels (including at major conferences), bankroll scholarly research, and develop innovative ways to expand our reach and influence.

IF you believe that Muslims Matter, IF you recognize the need to mainstream the voice of practicing, mosque attending, Muslims and IF you have benefited from the content and platform that MM provides, then we invite you to contribute to this groundbreaking service! IF you are looking for an outlet for sadaqa this Ramadan that is providing a service for the Muslims that is unique and unmatched on the internet, then JOIN in contributing to MM.

Muslim Matters, more than any other forum I know of, has the potential of turning into the unified voice of reason for the mainstream Muslim community in the United States.  [Noman Khan]

    salam bro,

the only deed i hear in every masjid is donation…the only thing they ask us to do is donation…charity is a great act and i know the reward for that but why not ask us to do other acts also ….everyone is after money…sorry to put it that way….”who will donate $5000 for Allah” “who is a great man among you” all kind of this crap ….have seen with my own eyes families dont have basic necessaties in houston…many..where does the money go which is collected hundred times by hundred organizations specially in masjid….You all have a habit of taking such post negatively and critisizing or fighting back…dont do it for this one….we need to work on making muslim community better by making sure the needy gets it…”who will donate for making swimming pool” …billahi just see what are we collecting money for in many masajids…

    salaam alikuim

I am ready to support MM but I’d like to hear a more clear long term plan for the organization. I think the better that is designed and communicated, the more people would be willing to support MM financially, inshallah

    @muslim

Ma-sha-Allah, you seemed to care a lot for Allah’s deen, may Allah reward you for your intention.

Maybe you can rephrase your statement as a pleasant word, as The prophet (SAW) said, protect yourself from fire, even with half a date donation, and if you can’t then with a pleasant word.

When you follow our beloved prophet (SAW), you won’t worry about “You all have a habit of taking such post negatively and critisizing or fighting back.”

It’s really simple: half a date or a pleasant word.

None of your pledge buttons are working. Have tried in IE7, FF3 and Chrome. Kinda makes it hard to donate.

I don’t mean to sound rude, but what are the expenses of the blog?

Web hosting costs around $6/month. The WordPress platform is free to use, but I think you guys purchased the theme and that’s a one-time cost. What other expenses are there?

    Jazakum Allaho khairan

    jazakallahkhair omar…

Also let me also remind everyone that we are a non-profit organization, and all our staffers are volunteers. Obviously, we wouldn’t seek funds if we did not have a plan to use them :) Our Shayookh are on board with our plans, so hopefully that helps with credibility. Finally, I hope people trust us inshallah that we recognize the weight and trust associated with sadaqa, before seeking it.

JazakumAllahkhair to all those who have donated… For the rest, come on brothers & sisters, help us get over the top inshallah… no better time to help this Islamic cause than these last few days of Ramadan. If everyone pitches in a bit, we would have already been done. It’s your opportunity to be part of something special, as we take it up to the next level inshalah.

    May Allah bless us all.
