jazakallahkhair Br. Abdulmalik for providing this free service, as I am sure you had the choice to charge people as most sites do. And on Siraaj's behalf, I would also like to thank you for giving the special option under "religious criteria" that you highlighted :)

Assalamu alaikum,

This is an interesting discussion and I hope noone minds my writing this comment.

My wife and I set up MuslimIntro.com in 2003 when I was fed up of her pestering me to find husbands for her friends. I really couldn't find anyone, so I setup this website so that her friends could register and look for husbands themselves.

Masha Allah, we have been going for over 5 years. 5 years on the internet is like 50 years in real life! Trends / fads come and go, people's ideas / opinions shift and change as illustrated in this discussion so far.

MuslimIntro.com is a small site, nothing in comparison to Shaadi.com or Qiran.com. But it is a free service, we do not charge anything. Every now and then I get an email from someone saying that he found his wife on my site and that they are happily married and that they are praying for us. One brother told me that he and his wife prayed for my family when they went to Hajj. That is sufficient motivation for me to keep the server running. (I am waiting for the day someone tells me they named their 1st child Muslimintro....... LOL ;-p)

I have tried to make the profiles as in-depth as possible. People want to know more than height, weight, nationality. Therefore, members can write about their interests, hobbies, background, education, Islamic beliefs and practices, family situation and even about their ideal wedding ceremony. I encourage members to write as much as they can in the their profile. I think that just the process of answering my questions help people crystalise in their minds exactly what they are looking for. If that helps someone, then Alhamdulillah, there is benefit in it.

I have also tried hard to make the site as Islamic as possible. There are sections covering religious criteria, and the issue of polygamy (i.e. men who are looking for a 2nd+ wife, and women who don't mind that). There are sections for women to explain who their wali is.

I would invite anyone looking for a Muslim husband or wife to visit MuslimIntro.com and give it a try. You have nothing to lose :-)

Wa salam,

Abdulmalik
Webmaster, MuslimIntro.com

@ Irshad
Seems to me that there are more than enough God conscious Pakistani girls for you to marry.

Well this is a new one, to marry a person based on their location.

1) Where are the Religious Criteria? ICmarriage is the only one that even mentions religious criteria at all, yet all profess to be MUSLIM matrimonial services. I don’t know about you, but wearing a head scarf and practicing the five pillars is the absolute, positive, and any other word you can mention, minimum religious criteria.

>> I totally agree with this.

2) There should be a website or these websites should have a polygamy section. Where those interested in polygamy can register.

Jazak Allah Khair

As-salaam Aleikum:

I advise 2 website:

1. www.MuslimIntro.com - Free and there are more questions on person's Islamic practice and views.

2. link removed - For salafi sisters and brothers. Their system works kind of weird, though. You fill the application, then on Tuesday ONLY send them email with the code of the sister you are interested, and so on and so forth.

Link removed, perhaps you typed in the wrong URL but the link displayed was inappropriate
