All the staff, writers and associates of MuslimMatters.org would like to wish the readers a joyous 'Īd al-Aḍḥa, filled with the Love and Mercy of Allāh, subḥānahu wa ta'āla.

Alhamdulillah, we are also delighted to announce that MM was given an “honorable mention” in the Best Group Blog category of this years Brass Crescent Awards. A sincere jazakumallah khair to all those who voted for us. All good is from Allāh and we pray that He continues to bless us with success, as long as we remain sincere in His service, āmīn.

It's been about 9 months since we started this small effort, and it is by the Grace of Allāh first and then by the help of our readers, that we have been able to reach so many people and make whatever positive contribution to the state of Muslim affairs. inshā'Allāh, stay tuned as we continue to make changes and improvements over the next months. Please use this space if you have any complaints/suggestions/criticism for improvement. Don't underestimate the value of an honest appraisal, even if negative :)

Muslimmatters.org began in 2007 as a collaboration between various Bloggers and Shuyukh in order to bring attention to issues faced by Muslims, especially in the West. We have focused on issues of Religion, Society, Ethics, Sex Education, Politics, Civil Rights, Family, as well as the random issues that pop up from now and then, all with some ranting and humor mixed in.

We challenge ourselves and our readers to engage in discourses that touch our lives as citizens of the West, while maintaining our individual Islamic identities: Ultimately to cooperate, but not to compromise.

Is there any way of searching for articles with any key words other than the themes provided in categories.

The current search engine only seems to offer searches undereither the set categories or under the writers’ names?

salam.. anonymoous… if u look on the top right, just under BROWSE and under monthly archives, there is a place for Search… clear the “Search” word and type in any key words and press the black button on its right with “>” symbol…

MR: definitely the theme is on the chopping block… soon inshalah… hopefully we’ll never need to find out what that place WAS.
