Update: i have finally updated this post with my last review on the show! Sorry it took so long...

Hi odd-one-out... it seems that you are not so "odd" in your views on the show; i also share them to some degree, though as my final review states, i do feel that there was some benefit in it, even for Muslims.

I'd be very interested to know what other Christians, or general non-Muslims, thought of the show. Please feel free to invite your friends and acquaintances to join in the discussion. As you say, we do have much to learn from each other. :)

Its also on 4od - all 3 episodes.

Watching the third episode I was a little disturbed how a couple of them (I can't remember names) were thinking of converting yet made no mention of a belief in God. From my perspective that seems odd and very superficial, but I'd be interested to know what you think of this?

I'm probably the odd one out here in that I'm not Muslim but a Christian which has somehow found herself straying onto this site after watching episodes 1+2 of this show.

As a committed Christian myself I found myself agreeing with a lot of what the mentors say. (eg I don't drink, don't believe in premarital sex and try not to look like a tart)To me though, the experiment is all very false. Its easy to live by a list of rules, but you can't force faith.

Whilst not wanting to water down either of our beliefs I think we can truly learn from eachother. For example, praying 5 times a day might not be required from me, but this programme made me think that perhaps its something I should require of myself to ensure I stay close to God.

From an outsiders perspective on the women being so reluctant to cover up, I would say they need to put things in perspective and stop acting like kids. Its only for 3 weeks, and its not a lot to ask. Just a thought but I wonder if they get some of their self worth through their looks and hair, and that is why they were so reluctant. They volunteered for the programme, they should stick to the rules. Maybe I'm wrong, those are just my thoughts on it.

Yeah I've just realised I was the only other person talking about it ;P Your reviews are great though, it's cool to see a differenct point of view from my own or my family's! Anyhoo... I saw part 3, now I want to see a follow up programme!

Overall though, I think this series was positive, and I'm so chuffed it was on at primetime!
