There are actually texts for those who say ma'azif are permissible. The majority may disagree because of other proofs, but those who oppose them too have their arguments to the proofs against them. He also states songs which contain enticement of one's lusts or other eviles, etc. are a tool of the Shaytan which cause affliction in a person's religion, even if he is the greatest of worshippers. His only solid conclusion that he reaches concerning the matter is that the claim of consensus does not hold up.
