Poetic Treat!

Published

Something from The Madrasah… one of our younger sisters (we’ll call her S.) wrote this poem:

Religiously and Vertically
I feel the influence
of this religion called Islam
Muslimah is what I am
Named.

Some say it’s a bad thing, but
I know it isn’t
I embrace the Muslim veins that run through me; without it I wouldn’t have my modesty
Islam is one, it’s the religion I love
One by one I breathe in
I am one; one Ummah; one religion and it’s called
ISLAM

    As salaamu alaikum

MashaAllah excellent!!! I hope to read more from you inshaAllah :)

The best part of the poem in my opinion was the part about “Muslim veins” running through you; really if you think about it, that’s beautiful imagery right there.

I watched that landmark, amazing video by Napoleon and how he came back to Islam and the BEST part and most touching part was when he said “The others around you hate to see that Muhammad (saws) is still in you, his Sunnah is still on you when they look at you” That made me think: Allahu akbar….the Qur’an and sunnah should be so close to us that it should be as if they are running through our veins…as if we know nothing else but to submit to Allah.

May Allah make us true muslims and I hope to see more poetry from you sister S.! :)

oh, I made another poem in english:

    What Religion do you Follow?,
Are you sure your heart is not hollow?.

    Well, myn is not,
I hope I never get caught.

What is your religion is it the one you worship stones?,
Or is it the one where you say when I die will I get up after bones (doubtfully)?.

My religion is the on you pray five times a day,
And you have to know that in the world you will never stay.

So let me tell you one more thing,
So listin carefully before your bell goes “ding ding ding”.

That if from shaytan you ever get a whisber,
just remember he is just a big trickster (means the one who tricks)

    A Nation in the making

What has gone wrong with me
Why does this worry not my heart flee
Why are we so occupied with Monday
When we have it all on Sunday
Why have we chosen to live in fear
Why does apprehension our minds shear

How can we bring to others faith’s light
When we have ourselves chosen to live in the night

How can we face the One
    Without having faith none

He is the most Just but what are we
Running after this world and on a lying spree

Our life should have a meaning
But how we live is so demeaning
We live this life as we never gonna die
Many of us live, one aftter another lie
This race after riches sucks our souls dry
and when old age withers us ,silently we cry

In the comfort of living room its easy to poetry write
but tough to all the time our desires fight

We can still light our heart
By making faith our daily life’s part
It will not happen in one day
but every small step will go a long way
Let ourselves be our own life’s incharge
and join hearts making a change very large
That will brighten so much our inside
That its shine will pierce through, to the outside

Everyone will live in peace and tranquility
and things of past will become oppression and hostility

But all that is not going to happen overnight
It demands sacrifice, never losing our sight

We will never lose hope, by Lords will
until we get there we are not gonna sit still
Pakistan will one day be, where we want it to be
It may be pitch dark but some of us still can see
those are the ones who have not corrupted their souls
And have shunned all the corrupt and filthy moles
Our Nation is in making inspite of all this turmoil
Chosen ones are working silently, no one can them foil
They have selflessly devoted themselves to the right cause
and will slowly and surely keep going, never to pause
It is high time to our foe identify
and oursleves of all evil rectify

let us join hands with those who are right
and finally put an end to this long lasting night

One day we are going to die
and be forgotten,no one for us to cry
But we can leave a noble legacy behind
To forever our young ones of the truth remind

Now when righteous are being pushed to the rock bottom
Fresh and pure flowers are gonna from here blossom
Its our will to take the right choice
coz on that day we wanna with em’ rejoice

    InshAllah………….

    Welcome Ramadhan

Every one cheerful on sighting the moon
and families congratulating each other on telephone

Kids shouting and running in the street
Elders gathering in the masjid to each other meet

Now many will look forward to iftar
Which after praying Asar still feels very far

Mothers and sisters will fry samosas
and everyone will run after pakoras

We will all fondle with dahi bhallay
    Excitement willl fill our muhallay

We will fast and still gain weight
Every thing will be sold at crazy rate

Amidst all this is lost Ramdhan’s message
And we have deviated from the Maumin’s passage

Do we feel for the ones who dont have enough
Who have to live in this world so rough

We have brothers who toil fasting with hunger pangs
and rich lads spend millions with their gangs

Ramadhan was supposed to purify us
and of the evil rectify us

We should feed ourselves and look around
why can’t we hear needy’s plight and sound

Let us bring to life Ramadhan
and light up ourselves with Quran

    Collateral Damage

    Bombs falling from the sky
    Human remains everywhere fly
    Young and old not differentiated
    Their family’s agony never appreciated
Our Nation in fool’s castle living
on and on goes barbaric killing

Our rulers want to please “mighty”
coz our hearts have no fear of Almighty
One after other corrupt rulers on us imposed
    Our founding principles have decomposed

Most have lost for the future all hope
Still poor and middle class are trying to cope
We have evreything that it takes to reach the top
Only if we decide to this wave of crruption stop

We expect our rules to better and improve
But we are the ones who elect and them approve
    We have subconsciously them accepted
Coz we have all ourselves corrupted
Pure souls not gonna fall from the sky
We have to purify us and ourselves try

Those who justify killing in the name of collateral damage
Will one day be held reponsible for their rampage
Their loved ones’ wailing are heavens and skies shaking
We look comatosed but infact our Nation is in the making

We will root the evil out
We will take the just route
We will teach our kids to be straight
and will infuse in us and them noble trait
we will not lie and corrupt ourselves
and learn Quran by taking em off the shelves
We will shed this hate and unite
And under one umbrella will unite

Those who want to separate us
by instilling in us hateful pus
Will be one day miserably defeated
Our mistakes will never be repeated
We are slowly moving to the goal
and to heights we are gonna roll

Sadists will be brought to justice
And the Nation will rid off the sepsis
We are going to from ashes rise
and will bring to Devils painful surprise

    His name is Muhammad-
Peace and Blessings on him forever

Once upon a time there lived a noble very brave.
Living through pain and facing dangers very grave
Determined was he to a guided way pave
From eternal wrath to humanity save

Some listened intently, some shouted to mask
the Divine message given to him as a task
But he remained patient and kept on smiling
Even when challenges on each other kept on piling

Surrounded was he by companions faithful
Who stood united even when handful
and displayed a lot of courage and dignity
World will benefit from them until eternity
They chose to believe out of their will
Pride and vanity their hearts had nil
Many survived on dates from the palm
Still they remained humble and calm

Movement of his fingers made moon part and water flow
Honesty, faith and love made his kind face always glow
Forgave he, all those who killed his loved ones
Showed compassion to those raging with blazing guns*

Never once he took any crime personal
Even when fools came armed with arsenal
Still to this day humanity from all over in Makkah unites
and gets rid of the racism which us humans divides

Though it was the borrowed oil which lit his last night
Yet the humanity will forever shine from his Message’s light

*Just a metaphor…there were no guns at the time

    Silver lining

Often we feel that life has us cheated
and miseries have painfully us beated
When it begins to get over heated
Some face it and fight, others feel defeated
But why down and miserable we feel
when life doesn’t give us our choice’s meal
If we focus on what we have and others don’t in this life
It will be easy for us to live through this strife
For after all we have to move on
This bad phase will be history and gone
But is bad really so bad
that thinking of it we go mad
Even misery richens and us nurture
But most of times it is to us just torture
We can pull ourselves out of it
By positively taking every bout of it
This will become our past indeed
and should to future us lead
Facing it while strong and stout
We will light life’s every route

May Allah bring peace and guidance to all mankind ..Amen
