While Irshad Manji will be portraying one side of the coin in the “America at a crossroads” series on Muslims , this Houston-produced program will be rebroadcast in the same series: a round-table discussion that will present the 'mainstream' Muslim viewpoint about and from Muslims who we meet in our daily life; those who love Allāh and His Prophet, while believing the Qurʾān to be the inerrant revelation from God that has to be accepted completely (not to pick and choose as Manji believes). Please cross-post this and email to your friends and family. And pls do send a quick message to PBS. Feel free to post a comment here with the text of your message. A view from the inside: Sh. Waleed mentioned that this PBS round-table involved a very positive discussion, and was carefully deliberated and thought-out in dress-rehearsals, in order to present a coherent image of Islam and Muslims, not the typical “uncles'” views thrown together at the last minute! Here is the announcement from Br. Iesa Galloway:
———————————
Please tune-in this Sunday, March 25 at 5PM to watch “The Connection” (rebroadcast on April 19th). This special episode is an extended round table discussion featuring panelists from the Texas Muslim community.
On this program; Sheikh Waleed Basyouni an Islamic Scholar & the founder of the Texas da‘wah Convention (TDC), Br. Rodwan Saleh the ISGH President, Br. Mohamed Elibiary the Freedom and Justice Foundation (F&J) President & CEO and MIST Founder & ISNA Advisor, Shazia Siddiqi discuss common misconceptions and peoples educational needs about Islam.
This special, extended edition of The Connection is entitled “The Truth about Islam” and a rebroadcast of the show will also air as part of PBS's national TV event “America at the Crossroads” on Thursday, April 19th.
Send Houston PBS a thank you Email.

Salaamu ‘alaykum,
This looks great, alhamdulillah. Is there anyway to get it online for those of us outside Houston? (or, specifically outside of the US).
JazakAllah khayr for the great blog, keep up the good work you guys =]
waalaikum asalam wa rahmatullah
It usually does pop up on youtube… hopefully someone will find it and post a link here inshallah…
I did find some YouTube clips from Manji’s upcoming “Faith Without Fear” documentary…one called “Debate” that’s here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJd3xElQPJI and another called “Veiled Conformity” here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=HCmm0GiJPMc .
What do y’all think of those?
I haven’t seen any from “The Truth About Islam” yet – but I’m really looking forward to this entire America at a Crossroads series, it should be pretty interesting, since it looks like they are really trying to get a variety of opinons and perspectives represented.
